What's included?
Our Pregnancy and Postnatal Counselling services provide compassionate and professional support for expectant and new mothers. Led by the experienced counsellor Helen Craine, our services are designed to help you navigate the emotional and psychological challenges that can arise during pregnancy and the postnatal period. What We Treat Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Postnatal Depression Emotional Adjustment Birth Trauma Parenting Stress Self-Care and Wellbeing: Encouraging practices that promote physical, emotional, and mental health. Appointment Details Counsellor: Helen Craine Sessions: Tailored to individual needs, available in-person or online The initial session will be an assessment session, it will provide the opportunity to discuss your concerns and goals for therapy. It will also give you the opportunity to ask Helen any questions you may have about Counselling and get to know her a little bit. You are under no obligation to book any further sessions from this initial appointment if you decide its not what you are looking for. However, if we agree we can work together, we can complete the working agreement and look at setting some regular sessions up for you. Starting counselling can be daunting and so we want to reassure you that Helen will meet you with honesty and kindness and her role is to support you. Counselling is a partnership, where we work together to help you understand your feelings, thoughts and behaviour's and I will provide you with a safe place to talk without judgement. Once the deposit has been received, Helen will contact you directly via email to confirm the appointment and provide details for the balance of the session costs.
Cancellation Policy
Sessions Each therapy session is 50 minutes long and initially will be held weekly, this can be adapted or flexed by mutual agreement. Payments Payment for your session must be made 24 hours in advance via bank transfer, a reminder text will be sent as standard. Non-Payment If payment is not received within this timeframe, the appointment will be cancelled and made available to other clients. Late/Cancellations: Please be aware that if you arrive late, the session cannot be extended beyond the scheduled time and the full fee will still apply. Cancellations If you need to cancel your appointment and provide less than 24 hours notice, the full fee will still apply. If you need to change or amend your appointment please contact me as soon as possible. If you fail to attend on two or more occasions with no reasonable attempts made to advise me, your sessions will be concluded. Ending of sessions I will work with you to agree on the number of sessions and we will regularly review this. Where possible, we will work with a target completion date in mind, to ensure we stay focused on your goals and can plan to end our sessions appropriately. This will be monitored carefully throughout to ensure you are feeling ready for sessions to end. Confidentiality Everything that you discuss during your counselling session is confidential except in the following circumstances; Where – in my opinion - there is harm to yourself or to others – this would be discussed with you at the time and any disclosures – when possible - will be agreed upon. Where the law requires disclosure i.e. you advise me of any of the following; money laundering, drug trafficking, terrorist activity or child abuse (in certain circumstances). For the purposes of Supervision – Supervision allows the counsellor to gain support and guidance in their work and ensures they are working within their competencies and the BACP ethical framework. Your details will be anonymised and all efforts will be made to retain your anonymity.
